What do MPulse and Women's Clothing Have in Common?

Chico's FAC, Inc. is a specialty retailer of private branded casual to dressy clothing. In 2003, Chico's opened a distribution center in Georgia with plans to bring the facility online as soon as possible. Since then Chico's has grown from 330 stores to over 1100. They plan to expand to 2500 and add another 300,000 square feet to the Georgia distribution facility. As business grew it became apparent that they needed to implement a CMMS to help organize their growing business. Bob Shuffield & PR Bailey were instrumental in formulating the plan that helped adjust the operational mindset.

In the beginning without PM planning, everything was reactive. Inventory was a series of shelves with a visual inventory tracking system. You see the box is empty... now what? Chico's reviewed several CMMS packages. Some with communications or reporting as the main focus, some that were centered on inventory management or work orders or preventive maintenance. Chico's saw MPulse with its Windows centric interface giving Chico's the system they wanted that encompassed all of these areas. "Our company has used MPulse Maintenance Software since 2004. The management and staff of MPulse have consistently given us outstanding service, tremendous backup and quality coaching as we have learned to implement the many facets and abilities this software offers," says PR Bailey.

Chico's took a fragmented work order system and streamlined their process. MPulse gave Chico's the freedom to create information as they needed as well as provide statistical data. MPulse became more than just a list of tasks. Chico's could now manage projects over time with goals.

Management is very pleased with work order results. The largest improvement has been in the area of communication. MPulse has allowed Chico's to bridge the communication gap between shifts as well as create a common language for the maintenance team. Chico's has not just purchased a packaged software program; they have teamed with MPulse to solve their organization's problems. PR Bailey says, "They have been with us every step of the way as we have expanded our business, our inventory and our maintenance department operations to support and operate a major retail distribution center for three growing companies. I have always found their work, advice and concern for our benefit to be of the highest quality. I would strongly recommend MPulse Maintenance Software to anyone with software needs, especially related to facilities maintenance operations."
