To existing MPulse users, much of Gold vSix® will appear to be the same high performance CMMS product. Under the surface, the reality is an ENTIRELY NEW architecture! In the beginning the MPulse design team was directed to combine MPulse’s field proven functionalities with the emerging state-of-the-art Microsoft® .NET Framework. It was also decided that this new generation of MPulse CMMS software would incorporate all the power and flexibility of Microsoft nTier™ system architecture.
Now, several man-years later, MPulse Gold vSix is a reality. A revolutionary EAM / CMMS solution which retains the practicality, logic, and unique graphical workspace 1000s of users have come to trust, while providing productive new features, functionalities, and a best-in-class approach to Distributed computing.
Simply put, .NET and nTier empowers MPulse to provide flexible, innovative, highly secure real-time maintenance management solutions. There are now 3 distinct parts to the computing schema, each optimized for its purpose (see Figure 1). The Client tier can be a PC, a terminal, a PDA, and even other devices as needed. The Business tier includes the Application itself, and other tools to manage and facilitate communication and data flow throughout the system. It also includes advanced customization and security tools for structuring the solution. The Data tier collects and manages all data relating to the application in a central, secure, but highly accessible format.
Because MPulse Gold vSix is a truly web-native EAM / CMMS application, your users access and use the system effortlessly and seamlessly, either over your LAN, Intranet or the Internet.

A wealth of data, when (and where) you need it
MPulse Gold vSix elegantly supports the use of multiple databases. Data can be co-located with the Business tier or located in any number of remote locations as needed. Thus, critical data can be properly secured, centrally managed and updated, and made available to users throughout the organization, seamlessly and transparently. For example, work order data might be stored on one server, management reports on another, and media and documents relating to assets on yet another. In another case, maintenance data for each division of a company may be stored in separate databases, which could be co-located or physically separate.

MPulse Gold vSix system architecture and requirements
In the .NET/ nTier environment, each of the 3 key components (Client, Business tier, and Data tier) can be installed on one or several computers. Connectivity between these elements is achieved using contemporary Internet-centric standards (HTTP/XML). This renders the issue of location irrelevant, enabling the client to make decisions regarding Distributed vs. Centralized computing based on business and effectiveness standards, rather than technical demands.

Options for Database
MPulse Gold vSix uses Microsoft SQL 2000 Server as its Database Management System. Microsoft Desktop Engine (MSDE) for SQL 2000 is included. Gold vSix can be upgraded to all advanced versions of SQL as needed.
Because the Business Tier is the heart of the MPulse system, we highly recommend the use of a dedicated server for hosting the application. The capacity and speed of this server will determine overall system performance. Bigger and faster is better!

MPulse offers many services; Initial staff training; an onsite Assured Implementation Program; ongoing support and refinement, either per-incident or through our Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) program.
