 How Much Does MPulse Cost?
We are often asked, ‘How much does MPulse cost?” This is a fair question, but one that can be very difficult to answer in one word. I know that can be frustrating for a shopper, but to throw out a price without more information is really asking for trouble.
Typically people purchase MPulse software products as a part of a total EAM/CMMS solution to improve their maintenance operations. The software alone is not the solution. So when we are asked, “how much is MPulse”, we need to know how MPulse fits into the total solution before we can give a price.
Typically an EAM/CMMS solution has many components that affect the price:
· Software
· Software Maintenance
· Hardware / Deployment
· Technical services – data migration, data input, connectivity to other data systems
· Training – On-site, classroom or web based.
Here are some general price ranges to help you decide if a solution with MPulse software is in your budget range. Please be sure to include all five sections when you are projecting the price of MPulse.
Software: Entry level WorkFlow products start at $1,750 each. We offer many add on options and additional users, which can raise the price to as high as $6,000. MPulse Gold starts at $6,000 and can also have many add on options and additional users. The typical Gold software retail sale is between $7,500 - $15,000.
Software Maintenance Program (SMA) – Our SMA program offers three benefits for the user: free telephone technical support for all your users, free updates to current versions, and access to our technical support section for downloads and knowledge base articles. SMA is an optional program, but most users see the inherent value and maintain this annual agreement. The price of the SMA program is between 15% - 20% of the total retail value of your software per year.
Hardware / Databases / Deployment – MPulse is a web based program that utilizes a web service and a data service. The web service requires Microsoft Windows Server running IIS and the data server running Microsoft SQL Server. We recommend a dedicated server for your MPulse application. Please refer to our product specific system requirements on their respective product data sheets. Consult with your IT staff to insure compatibility. As an alternative many customers chose our WorkSmart Application Hosting Service and elect to have MPulse host their web service and data service. This service can be purchased for a one time $500 set up fee plus $200 per concurrent user per year.
Technical Services – Many times our customers have data in a spread sheet(s), a legacy developed database, or a competitive product they want to import into MPulse. Import services of existing data start from $250. We will need to see your data before we can give an accurate quote. The thing to know at this point is its doable and not cost prohibitive. There are instances where we are asked if we communicate with, or exchange data with, XYZ System. Typically the answer is yes, but will require engineering services. For us to set up a data exchange service the price ranges from $2,500 to $5,000 depending on the complexity of the work. Again this is doable and not cost prohibitive.
Training – This is the most important place for you to invest in your EAM/CMMS implementation. We strongly recommend customers invest in training. Customer success is almost guaranteed when customers invest in training. Training focuses your system manager on success and getting fully implemented. We have several training options – web based training @ $150 / hour, our 3 day MPulse Training Center which is available at several locations around the US for $1,500 per attendee, we can also bring the MPulse Training Center onsite for $4,000 plus T & E, and a five day Assured Implementation Program for $8,000 plus travel and expenses.
