Training Center Course Description
 Section: MPulse System Overview Provides an introduction to using your new MPulse program. We will walk you through setting up and tracking maintenance for a piece of equipment. This section will help you feel comfortable about how to log in, find help, and navigate through the system. You will be able to schedule, create, execute, and close a simple work order, and understand how this activity affects inventory and history.
Major Topics: Navigation/Help, capital assets, inventory, maintenance tasks, scheduled maintenance, unscheduled or corrective maintenance reports.
Section: Managing Your Capital Assets The most common measurement of success for a maintenance department is how effectively you are able to manage your assets. In this section, you will learn how to set up and maintain your capital asset records so that you can use MPulse to completely manage your assets, using accurate, timely, functional data on all type of costs and work history. Major Topics: Tips on asset ID numbering systems, setting up the global list boxes for locations, departments & cost centers, Using asset descriptions to enhance reporting, building asset templates, setting up assets for meter based PM scheduling, supplier and manufacturer records, using the view and procedures menus, finding records quickly, capital asset reporting.
Section: Corrective & Unplanned Work Orders How to set up your work order management system so that it will provide you with accurate data in the future, and reduce your administrative workload in the present. Major Topics: Processing incoming work request into MPulse, converting Work Requests to Work Orders, work order status and type, setting up maintenance tasks, linking capital assets to work orders, assigning employees and/or contractors to tasks, work order priorities and groups, finding work orders, managing the paper flow, closing work orders, assigning labor hours, linking inventory, misc. costs, downtime, work order reporting.
Section: Creating a Scheduled Maintenance (PM) Program Setting up your PM program in your database using MPulse’s Scheduled Maintenance section. Both time and meter based scheduling will be presented. Major Topics: Fixed time based scheduling, floating time based scheduling, meter based scheduling, entering meter readings, tips on creating maintenance tasks for scheduled maintenance records. Using future date and priorities on scheduled maintenance records, linking inventory, linking employees and or contractors, managing scheduled maintenance records, converting scheduled maintenance records to work orders, scheduled maintenance reporting.
Section: Managing Inventory Using MPulse Taking control on your inventory requires the proper setup, procedures, and discipline. This section will help you with the setup and suggest some procedures for you and your department to follow. Major Topics: Part records, supply records, tools records, supplier records, using the min/max system, setting re-order points, using the re-order system, using the re-order list, coordinating MPulse generated purchase requisitions with your company’s purchase order system, receiving inventory, managing back orders, adjusting inventory, inventory reporting.
